Rivers United from Port Harcourt Secure Goalless draw against Etoile Filante to a scoreless draw in the first leg of their second preliminary round fixture to start their 2023/2024 CAF Confederation Cup campaign in Cote d’Ivoire.

Rivers United received a bye in the initial round, securing their spot in the second round. This positive outcome sets a hopeful tone for their advancement in the tournament.

Etoile Filante, on the other hand, advanced to the second round by defeating Senegal’s Casa Ziguiqor in the opening round.

The match took place at the Municipal Stadium in Yamoussoukro, near Abidjan, and concluded in a goalless draw, despite both teams’ fervent efforts to secure a crucial victory.

Rivers United will welcome the second leg of the fixture at the Adokie Amesiemaka Stadium in Port Harcourt two weeks from now.
