Cristiano Ronaldo will continue his international career with Portugal after being included in new head coach Jorge Jesus’ squad for the country’s upcoming fixtures.

The veteran forward remains part of the national team as Jesus begins his reign, ending any immediate speculation over Ronaldo’s future with Portugal.

Ronaldo, Portugal’s all-time leading scorer and most-capped player, remains a key figure for the national side as the team prepares for the new international campaign.

His inclusion also gives Jesus the chance to work with one of the most experienced players in Portuguese football as he begins shaping his team.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development in a post on X on Friday, reporting that Ronaldo had been called up by Jesus for the upcoming matches.

Portugal will open their 2026/27 UEFA Nations League campaign at home against Wales on September 24.

They will travel to Norway four days later before facing Denmark away on October 1. Portugal will then host Norway on October 4 in their fourth group-stage fixture.

The final two group matches are scheduled for November, with Portugal visiting Denmark on November 14 before travelling to Wales three days later.

Portugal have been drawn in League A, Group 4 alongside Wales, Norway and Denmark.
