The Super Eagles have seen a minor drop in the most recent FIFA men’s standings, which were made public on Thursday morning.

The FIFA rankings showed the three-time African champions falling from 28th to 30th place.

The Super Eagles have played in two friendlies this past month.

Although they defeated Ghana, their longtime rivals, 2-1, the team captained by current coach Finidi George lost to the Mali Eagles, 2-0.

The Super Eagles remained in third place in Africa despite the rating decline, behind the Terangha Lions of Senegal and the Atlas Lions of Morocco.

The Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire and the Pharaohs of Egypt round out the top five teams on the continent.

Argentina, the world champions, continued to hold the top spot in the FIFA rating.
