Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was on target and also provided an assist as Galatasaray cruised to a 4-0 win over Kayserispor in Sunday’s league encounter.
With his goal in the match, Osimhen reached the milestone of 200 career goals, made up of 165 goals at club level and 35 for his national team.
In addition, the forward has now recorded 14 goals in 20 outings across all competitions this season.
The game, held at Rams Park, got off to an early start for Galatasaray as Kayserispor defender Aaron Opoku accidentally turned the ball into his own net in the seventh minute.
Galatasaray doubled their advantage in the 25th minute after a foul in the box led to a penalty, which Osimhen calmly converted to make it 2-0.
The hosts maintained their dominance after the break and were further rewarded when Osimhen set up Gabriel Sara, who finished to extend the lead to 3-0.
Osimhen, the former African Player of the Year, was taken off in the 82nd minute, but Galatasaray were not done, as Mauro Icardi sealed the emphatic win with a late penalty.
The result keeps Galatasaray firmly at the top of the Süper Lig standings with 49 points, holding a six-point advantage over second-placed Fenerbahçe.
