Nigeria claimed a dominant 3-1 win against rivals Ghana in their final warm-up match before the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The Super Falcons surged into a three-goal lead before Ghana managed a late consolation. Chinwendu Ihezuo opened the scoring in the 34th minute, with Asisat Oshoala doubling the advantage from the penalty spot just ten minutes later.

Shortly after the break, captain Rasheedat Ajibade added a third for Nigeria, sealing a commanding performance. Ghana pulled one back in the 88th minute, but it did little to change the outcome.

Sunday’s friendly, held in Morocco, wrapped up Nigeria’s pre-tournament preparations. The Super Falcons had earlier drawn 0-0 with Portugal.

Nigeria will kick off their WAFCON 2025 campaign on July 5 against Tunisia. Placed in Group B, they will also face Botswana and Algeria as they pursue a record-extending 10th continental title.
