Nigeria’s track and field star, Tobi Amusan, fulfilled fans’ expectations by dominating the 100m hurdles final at the ongoing African Games in Ghana and clinching the gold medal.
Amusan, the world record holder in the 100m hurdles, was widely anticipated to win the race. However, she received a yellow card after a false start on her first attempt but remained composed and prepared for the next start.
Upon the second gun, Amusan seized the opportunity, sprinting effortlessly to secure a comfortable victory with a time of 12.89 seconds.
This triumph marks her third consecutive African Games title, following her victories in the previous editions held in Congo Brazzaville and Rabat.
Meanwhile, Faith Osamuyi, the other Nigerian athlete in the race, narrowly missed out on a podium finish, placing fourth with a time of 13.77 seconds.
