Tobi Amusan secures spot in World Championships 100m hurdles final

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has booked her place in the women’s 100m hurdles final at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo after a dominant semifinal display on Monday.

The world record holder clocked 12.36 seconds (-0.2 m/s) to claim victory, finishing ahead of the Netherlands’ Nadine Visser (12.45s) and Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska (12.51s).

Amusan, who set the world record of 12.12s at the 2022 championships in Eugene, controlled the race from the outset, gliding smoothly over the hurdles before powering to the finish line.

The 27-year-old’s performance has heightened expectations as she targets a return to the top of the podium in the final.
