Tottenham Hotspur’s inconsistency continued as they were held to a draw at home by Fulham in the Premier League.

Missing key players due to injuries and suspensions, Spurs endured significant pressure before taking the lead in the 54th minute.

Brennan Johnson volleyed in his sixth league goal of the season, finishing from close range after a cross by Timo Werner.

However, Fulham, who had created better chances throughout the match, equalized 13 minutes later. Substitute and captain Tom Cairney scored with a first-time left-footed shot from 18 yards after being set up by Alex Iwobi.

Cairney’s involvement was short-lived; he was sent off with seven minutes remaining for a reckless challenge on Dejan Kulusevski’s Achilles.

Spurs, the Premier League’s top scorers, have now failed to win consecutive games in their last eight matches.

Despite an early chance when Son Heung-min was denied by Bernd Leno and a James Maddison free-kick that struck the post, they struggled to create clear opportunities until Johnson’s goal.

Fulham came close to scoring just before halftime when Iwobi’s shot deflected off Ben Davies and hit the crossbar.

Tottenham felt the absence of Dominic Solanke, who missed the match after feeling sore following their Europa League draw against Roma.

Additionally, Dejan Kulusevski started on the bench but was brought on after Fulham’s equalizer to bolster the attack.

Despite their efforts, Spurs couldn’t find a winner, marking their second home draw in a week following the 2-2 result against Roma. This also marked their first league draw since the season opener.
