Tottenham Hotspur announced that French midfielder Tanguy Ndombele will depart the club following the mutual termination of his contract.

Ndombele arrived at Spurs on a six-year deal from Lyon in July 2019 for a then-club record fee of 60 million euros (£53.8 million). He marked his debut against Aston Villa by scoring the first of his 10 goals in 91 appearances for the club.

However, struggles with both form and fitness punctuated his time at Spurs before he embarked on a loan spell back to Lyon in 2022.

The 27-year-old experienced success as a league champion in Italy and Turkey after his loan stint with Napoli in the 2022-23 season, followed by his move to Galatasaray last season.

Although Ndombele had a year remaining on his contract with Spurs, both parties have agreed to part ways from 30 June.

His last appearance for Tottenham was in an FA Cup third-round match against Morecambe on 9 January 2022.

In an official statement, Tottenham expressed gratitude to Ndombele for his contributions to the club and extended their best wishes for his future endeavors.
