Tottenham Hotspur from the English Premier League is said to be in competition with Chelsea, another London-based team, in the pursuit of securing the services of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian player has been associated with a potential move to Chelsea since the previous summer, following his notable contributions to Napoli’s success in the Italian Serie A last season.

Osimhen played a key role in leading Napoli to the league title, ending a 33-year wait, and has continued his impressive form into the current season.

The striker from the Super Eagles has netted six goals in eight league matches this season.

Tottenham has been actively seeking a new striker since the departure of Harry Kane in the last summer transfer window and is poised to compete with Chelsea for the acquisition of Osimhen’s services.

Mauricio Pochettino, the recently appointed manager for Chelsea, holds a strong admiration for Osimhen. However, there’s a possibility of missing out on securing the Nigerian international next summer, as numerous elite clubs are closely monitoring his performance at Napoli.

Tottenham might face challenges in competing with Chelsea and other prominent European clubs, primarily due to the substantial transfer fee Napoli is expected to demand for the Super Eagles star.

In the event of missing out on the Nigerian striker, Ange Postecoglu’s team may consider pursuing Brentford’s forward, Ivan Toney.
