Manchester United have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos in a deal worth up to £50 million, according to Sky Sports.
The agreement includes an initial fee of £48 million, with a further £2 million in performance-related add-ons. Chelsea will also retain a 10 per cent sell-on clause as part of the transfer.
Santos is expected to undergo a medical before completing his switch to Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old is regarded as one of Europe’s brightest young midfielders and is set to become one of United’s marquee signings of the summer transfer window.
The move forms part of Manchester United’s efforts to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign, while Chelsea are expected to reinvest the proceeds as they continue reshaping their team.
