Sadio Mané has returned to Al Nassr on the back of another landmark achievement with Senegal, after captaining the Teranga Lions to Africa Cup of Nations glory and further cementing his place as the side’s undisputed leader.

Senegal sealed their second AFCON title — and first in four years — with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Morocco on January 18. Mané started the final and was among the competition’s standout performers from beginning to end.

Numbers That Define His Leadership

The left winger has been the face of Senegal’s national team for well over a decade. In nearly 14 years at international level, Mané has amassed 52 goals in 124 appearances, highlighting both his consistency and longevity.

During this AFCON campaign, he featured in all seven matches, registering two goals and two assists, and directly contributing to four of Senegal’s 13 goals en route to lifting the trophy.

A Warm Welcome Back at Al Nassr

Fresh from continental success, Mané’s return to club duty was met with an emotional reception. Cristiano Ronaldo, the coaching crew and his Al Nassr teammates welcomed him back with applause, hugs and words of congratulations inside the dressing room.

The club also marked the moment with a special cake decorated with images of Mané lifting the AFCON trophy as Senegal captain, reflecting the positive spirit within the squad.

Mané Reacts

In a video shared by the club, Mané expressed his gratitude for the gesture, saying:
“Thank you, guys. I’m really happy with the surprise — I didn’t expect it. It shows the warmth of this group, and I truly appreciate it. Now we’re focused on what’s ahead this season.”

Al Nassr’s League Position

On the domestic front, Al Nassr currently sit second in the Saudi Pro League with 37 points from 16 matches, seven points behind leaders Al Hilal.

With Mané back in the squad and Cristiano Ronaldo spearheading the project, the club heads into a crucial phase of the season buoyed by unity, experience and renewed confidence in their title push.
