British boxer Tyson Fury has shared details on his earnings from the exhibition fight victory against former UFC Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
Ngannou’s debut in professional boxing, following his transition from UFC, pitted him against the heavyweight champion, making it a noteworthy matchup.
The Cameroonian fighter came close to achieving a historic victory against arguably one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, even securing a takedown in the third round of the encounter.
The match’s result left fans puzzled, with several, including African football legend Didier Drogba, asserting Ngannou as the winner despite his point-based loss.
The extensively publicized fight took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and both boxers received substantial compensation, among the most significant in recent times.
According to Michael Benson, a boxing analyst at talkSPORT, during the press conference announcing his upcoming bout against Oleksandr Usyk next year, Tyson Fury revealed that he earned ‘nearly £50 million.’
Reports state that the highly anticipated showdown between the Gypsy King and the Ukrainian, set for February 17, 2024, is slated to take place in Saudi Arabia.
As highlighted by reports, Ngannou, who delivered a spirited performance in his debut boxing match, earned approximately £8 million – surpassing all his previous earnings, including those from his mixed martial arts career.
