U-17 World Cup: Eaglets to depart for Brazil Oct.8
The Golden Eaglets are expected to depart Nigeria for Sao Paulo, Brazil October 8 for their final preparation for the 2019 U-17 World Cup, The Punch report.
According to coach Manu Garba, the team will play two friendly games before he announces his final squad for the tournament.
The team will travel with 30 players to afford Garba assess all the players before making a decision on his final 21-man squad to represent Nigeria at the U-17 World Cup.
“The UEFA/CAF tournament was a good exposure for the boys, they faced stiff oppositions in Turkey. The games against Turkey, Guatemala and Senegal were good tests for the boys,” Garba told The PUNCH.
“We learnt a lot from the tournament as it was a perfect ground to test the players which also gave the technical crew an opportunity to see some errors in the team.”
The five-time winners will face Hungary, Ecuador and Australia in Group B at the tournament billed to hold from October 26 to November 17 in Brazil.
