Nigeria’s Flamingos were awarded the Fair Play prize at the recently concluded FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.

Bankole Olowookere’s team was recognized for their exemplary conduct throughout the tournament, as they received the fewest bookings of any team.

The Flamingos reached the quarterfinals, where they were eliminated by the United States with a 2-0 defeat.

Before their exit, the Nigerian squad won all three of their group matches.

North Korea ultimately claimed the championship, defeating Spain 4-3 on penalties in the final.
