Barcelona president Joan Laporta has stated that the Catalan club will do everything possible to try to beat Chelsea in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge.

The match will reignite the rivalry between the two European powerhouses.

The teams last met in the Champions League during the knockout stage of the 2017/2018 season. After a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, Barcelona secured a 3-0 victory in the return leg.

Barcelona have spent the past two and a half seasons playing away from home, holding matches at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.

On Saturday night, however, the team finally returned to their permanent home, the new Spotify Camp Nou.

The occasion was marked with a commanding 4-0 win over Athletic Club. Ferran Torres scored twice, with additional goals from Robert Lewandowski and Fermin Lopez, while Joan Garcia kept a clean sheet to secure the victory for Hansi Flick’s side.

Laporta expressed immense joy at the team’s return to the Spotify Camp Nou, celebrating the occasion as a moment of pride and happiness for all Culés.
