Dusan Vlahovic netted a brace as Juventus cruised to a 3-0 victory over Verona on Monday, marking their second consecutive dominant win to kick off the Serie A season.

Thiago Motta’s side, who opened the campaign with a 3-0 triumph over Como, are the only team to maintain a perfect record after two matches, sitting at the top of the early standings.

Juventus, eager to claim their first Scudetto since the 2019/20 season, have shown strong early form under new head coach Motta, who took charge following Massimiliano Allegri’s dismissal after his post-Italian Cup final outburst in May.

Last season, Juve finished third in Serie A, their best result in four years, despite slipping away from title contention.

Vlahovic opened the scoring for Juventus just before the half-hour mark in Verona. Nicolo Savona, a 21-year-old defender making his full debut, doubled the lead before halftime, heading in from a Samuel Mbangula cross.

Mbangula, the Belgian winger, now boasts a goal and two assists in his first two senior appearances since being promoted from the youth team.

Vlahovic sealed the win with a penalty just eight minutes into the second half.

Speaking to DAZN, Vlahovic praised Motta’s impact on the team, saying, “He is definitely pushing us to be more aggressive and focused. We all agree that the right mentality is key to everything.”

Juventus will face a tougher challenge when they host Roma on Sunday, in what could be their first major test of the season.

Earlier on Monday, Como earned their first Serie A point since 2003 with a 1-1 draw at Cagliari, thanks to a second-half equalizer from former AC Milan forward Patrick Cutrone.

“I’m pleased with the result because Cagliari is a tough place to play,” said Como coach Cesc Fabregas. “But we need to adapt to the Serie A pace as soon as possible.”
