WAFCON 2024: Nnadozie tags Super Falcons’ clash with Botswana“Cup Final”

Super Falcons captain and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has warned that Thursday’s Group B showdown against Botswana will be every bit as tense as a tournament decider.

Nigeria heads into the fixture at Larbi Zaouli Stadium off the back of a convincing 3–0 victory over Tunisia, while Botswana will be eager to recover from their 1–0 loss to Algeria.

“We know Botswana will come here full of determination after their opening defeat,” Nnadozie told Newsclick Media. “We faced them in the 2022 group stage here in Morocco and secured a 2–0 win, but tomorrow’s match will feel like a cup final. We must be at our best to book our spot in the knockout rounds.”

A win for the Super Falcons will confirm their progression from Group B with a game to spare. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 pm Nigeria time.
