The quarter-final stage of the ongoing 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) is gradually taking shape following the conclusion of Group B matches on Tuesday.

Ivory Coast booked their place in the last eight after defeating Tanzania 2-1, while South Africa secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Burkina Faso in the other Group B fixture.

The results confirmed the quarter-final pairings for both teams as the tournament moves into the knockout phase.

Ivory Coast will take on Algeria in the quarter-finals, while South Africa will battle hosts Morocco for a place in the semi-finals.

The WAFCON quarter-final matches are scheduled to commence on Saturday, with the four victorious teams progressing to the semi-final stage.

The remaining quarter-final fixtures will be confirmed after the completion of matches in the other groups.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons enter the knockout rounds as defending champions, having claimed the previous title after defeating Morocco in the final.

The Nigerian team will be aiming to successfully defend their crown as the competition enters its decisive stages.
