RB Leipzig’s forward, Dani Olmo, is confident that his team can emerge victorious against Real Madrid in the upcoming second leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match on Wednesday.
Olmo, hailing from Spain, heads back to his homeland as Leipzig suffered a narrow defeat in the first leg on German soil three weeks ago.
Real Madrid maintains an impeccable record in this season’s tournament, triumphing in all their group stage fixtures without conceding a point prior to their victory over Leipzig in the initial leg.
Nevertheless, the Spanish La Liga outfit is coming off a draw in their domestic league, whereas Leipzig secured a convincing victory in their recent encounter against VfL Bochum.
Olmo holds firm in his belief that his team can eliminate the reigning 14-time champions and progress to the quarterfinals.
“We are going to the Bernabeu with the mentality that we can eliminate Real Madrid,” he said in an interview with Madrid Xtra ahead of the Wednesday match.
The winner will advance to the quarterfinals.
