Wolves forward Matheus Cunha has received a two-game ban from the Football Association following an altercation with Ipswich security earlier this month.

The Brazilian striker was charged with misconduct after elbowing a member of Ipswich staff and snatching his glasses.

Alongside the suspension, Cunha has been fined £80,000. He will miss Wolves’ Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest and their FA Cup third-round match against Bristol City.

The incident occurred after Wolves’ 2-1 defeat to Ipswich at Molineux, where Jack Taylor’s injury-time goal secured the win for the visitors.

The loss led to the dismissal of manager Gary O’Neil and his coaching staff, who Vitor Pereira and his team subsequently replaced.

Cunha was found guilty of improper conduct during the post-match confrontation, which also saw teammate Rayan Ait-Nouri receive a second yellow card in the tunnel.

Since the altercation, the 25-year-old has scored in victories over Leicester City and Manchester United and contributed to a 2-2 draw against Tottenham on Sunday.

Cunha has netted 10 goals in 19 Premier League appearances this season, with Wolves currently sitting 17th, one point above the relegation zone, ahead of Monday’s home game against Forest.
