‘You’re obsessed with me,’ Salah hits back at Carragher after controversial social media post

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has responded to club legend Jamie Carragher, accusing him of being “obsessed” amid ongoing speculation about his future at Anfield.

The Egyptian winger, who is in the final six months of his contract, has found himself at the center of a heated exchange with Carragher as uncertainty grows over his next career move.

With Salah now eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs, his actions and statements have drawn increased scrutiny.

Carragher, known for his candid opinions, has been critical of Salah’s recent behavior.

The former Liverpool defender took issue with a cryptic photo Salah posted on social media featuring Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, which many interpreted as a subtle message to the club’s management.

Previously, Carragher labeled Salah “selfish” and urged him to adopt a more composed approach to contract negotiations, similar to that of Van Dijk.

Salah, however, wasn’t having it. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday night, he responded: “I’m starting to think you’re obsessed with me.”

Carragher, in a lighthearted reply, quipped: “I’ve always been obsessed with you. Hopefully, that obsession will continue next season.”
