Nigerian artist David Adeleke, often known as Davido, has announced his approaching wedding to his partner, Chioma Rowland Adeleke.

According to recent reports, singer and chef Chioma will wed traditionally on June 25, 2024, in Lagos.

In a video that went viral on Tuesday, Davido has now verified the reports.

In the video, the 30 Billion Gang boss could be heard saying, “Guys, you have to come to Nigeria on the 25th [of June] for my wedding.”

He talked candidly about his friendship with Chioma in a recent interview, stating that they were friends before Chioma became well-known.

Davido thanked her for introducing him to her at that time, reflecting on how difficult it would have been for him to date now because he would have felt that women were only interested in him because of his wealth or status.

Davido revealed the significance of authenticity in his circle, noting that success for him lies not just in personal achievements but in the continued presence of those who stood by him during his humble beginnings.

The couple, who lost their son Ifeanyi in a tragic accident in 2022, welcomed their twins in the United States in October, 2023.

Recall that, Davido spoke out about how he met his wife, Chioma Rowland.

According to Davido, he knew Chioma before his ascent to fame and wealth.

avido expressed gratitude for meeting her during that period, stressing how difficult it would have been for him to enter relationships now as he would feel every woman wants him for his money or status.

Davido emphasised how success for him lies not just in personal achievements but in the presence of those who stood by him during his humble beginnings.

“I have a friend, anytime I am on the phone with my wife, he would say he has everything in the world, but a wife is what he is missing.

“I met my wife before I had money, but I was telling myself if I didn’t meet her before then and now I am single, and I meet a girl, it wouldn’t be the same. I would feel the lady is talking to me because I am Davido and I have money.

“My own success is when I see people around who were there when I had nothing and they see me now, that’s the feeling, not like when you blow up and start hanging out with a new set of people. You need to keep the people that were there with you since grinding”.
