Collins Oviawe popularly known as Governor of Africa, is an entertainment entrepreneur, being the founder and current chief executive officer of Playnation entertainment, an entertainment brand that flourishes in the African entertainment space.
GOA is an executive producer, creating collaborations with popular music acts including Davido, Peruzzi, Dj Neptune, Bella Shmurda among others, with his collab project “Cincinnati” making the list of Top tracks in Nigeria on Apple music, GOA has also proved more than a music mogul and digital influencer.
Starting off as an event and entertainment coordinator, with an active career spanning over nine years, GOA has transformed himself and his brand (Playhouse Entertainment) to a continental fun house. The brand has spanned from being responsible for celebrities into top lifestyle and social events to organising its own signature event, The Bikini Splash Pool Party, which first premiered in Benin city, Southern Nigeria before launching in the Southern parts of Africa, Cape town, South Africa.
Speaking recently in an interview, on the success of his brand, GOA notioned that effort, teamwork, and collaboration has been instrumental to his success as an individual and an entrepreneur, he says “over the years, I’ve learnt the basic ingredients to success, but as cliche as they sound, they are the facts, personal effort and a strong bond within my team has helped us pull through a lot of challenges especially early on” He also add “…and with all of that, the privilege of being able to reach out and collaborate with major brands and artists has proved instrumental to our success, it’s easily the cornerstone of Playhouse Entertainment’s success”.
Collins who finished with a degree in Finance and Accounting from Delta State University has undoubtedly implemented his skill and knowledge into his brand, allowing PlayNation to hold a strong position especially in the Nigerian music industry. The brand (Playnation Entertainment) is set to deliver more projects as the entertainment calendar for 2021 rolls along.
