Grammy winning Nigerian singer and songwriter, Temilade Openiyi, also known as Tems, recently shared how she found out that she has ‘blown’.
Tems claimed that the realisation of her triumph came from a direct message (DM) from American-Barbadian singer Rihanna. It dawned on her then that she has really shot to fame.
She made this revelation in a conversation with well-known YouTuber Korty EO.
The host asked: “At what point did you realise that you’ve become successful?”
Tems replied: “I knew I’d blown and gone far when I got a DM from Rihanna.”
Tems co-wrote Rihanna’s Black Panther2 soundtrack, ‘Lift Me Up’ last year.
Earlier this year, Rihanna expressed a desire to collaborate with Tems and Ayra Starr on a song.
Meanwhile Nigerian Afrobeats star, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, otherwise known as Ayra Starr relished her first-time meeting Grammy winner, Rihanna.
The 21 year old ‘Sabi’ crooner revealed that she was surprised that the Barbadian queen of R & B music knew who she was.
Speaking during a chat with BuzzFeed, Ayra Starr reiterated that her favourite and biggest celeb is Rihanna.
Recounting the experience, she expressed excitement at having a chance to interact with Rihanna and described it as ‘amazing’.
In Ayra Starr‘s words;
“My biggest celeb story is Rihanna. I met Rihanna about two weeks ago. I went to the Authentic Woman event in London. It was amazing; I got to meet Rihanna. Do you know how craazy that is? And she loves me, she knew me that was the most amazing part of it. She knew me. It was so amazing.”
