I have no regret voting for Tinubu – Actor Jide Kosoko

Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has declared that he has no regrets about endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

President Tinubu is “doing very well,” in his words.

In an interview with content creator Bae U Barbie for “Curiosity Made Me Ask,” Kosoko clarified that repairing a damaged economy is a difficult task.

The host asked: “People that voted for Tinubu do you think they should be bullied?”

Kosoko replied:

“That is their own business. Their own cup of tea. I am entitled to my opinion. I love the man I voted for. And I know he is doing well.

“He is doing well. If only you know how repairing things are, you will understand that he is doing very well.”

On why he voted for Tinubu, the actor said,

“I voted for him because I have known him for a long time. And I have seen quite a lot of his contributions to nation building.

“You cannot even talk about this present democracy that we are all enjoying without saying Tinubu’s name among the people that struggled for us to have it.”

Recall that, Jide Kosoko announced the postponement of his 70th birthday celebration in light of the prevailing economic challenges in the country.

Kosoko thanked his coworkers and fans who intended to honour him for his achievements to the entertainment industry while he is still alive in an Instagram post on Sunday.

While friends, relatives, and well-wishers had already gathered for a thanksgiving ceremony on January 12th to celebrate Kosoko’s milestone birthday, his fans had imagined a grand celebration to mark his accomplishments.

But in an effort to show support for the general populace, Kosoko has opted to postpone the celebration in light of the financial difficulties that many Nigerians are currently facing.

He stated,

“I have discussed with them, and they reasoned, that the celebration should be put on hold, basically because of the current situation in the country and what the people are going through.”
