A social media influencer going by the handle @belikebaddy has apologised in public for creating a controversial tweet and claiming it was from Nigerian musician Peruzzi.
The post claimed that Grammy-nominated performer Chioma Adeleke, also known as Chioma, had an adulterous affair with her wife.
The influencer posted a fake tweet on the microblogging site X purporting to be Peruzzi, a former DMW recording artist.
The now-deleted tweet from @belikebaddy implied that he had discovered Chioma Adeleke abandoned by her husband, Davido, by claiming to have slept with her.
He also claimed to be the inspiration behind all of Davido’s well-known songs.
The fake tweet said:
“We used to be so close, but because you hear say I Dey pipe your wife you start to give me attitude I don leave your circle sha. Ungrateful Nigga like say if I no write your songs you for blow.”
The scandalous allegations spread rapidly across social media, prompting reactions and speculations among fans and followers of the artists involved.
Approximately 24 hours after the false tweet gained traction, the influencer issued a public apology, presumably following legal intervention from the teams representing Peruzzi.
In the apology post, @belikebaddy expressed remorse, taking full responsibility for the fabricated content.
“I apologize for posting an edited tweet which involves Peruzzi and Davido. I take full responsibility for all my actions, and I promise it will never happen again. My apologies to DMW management,” the influencer wrote.
