My sister wasn’t sick, she died in her sleep – Jumoke Aderounmu’s brother reveals

The late movie actress Jumoke Aderounmu‘s brother, Adeola, has stated that his sister passed away peacefully in her sleep and was not sick as was previously believed.

Jumoke, known for her role as Esther in Funke Akindele’s Jenifa’s Dairy series, died on April 6.

Adeola stated in an interview with Saturday Beats that the deceased had intended to move to the UK before to her passing.

Jumoke was not obtaining movie roles, therefore Adeola saw that she wanted to move to the UK.

He said he didn’t have Funke Akindele‘s number when questioned why he hadn’t gotten in touch with her in private rather than criticising her publicly for supposedly failing to assist the departed in her hour of need.

His words:

“I did not reach out to her (Funke), because I don’t have her phone number, and I am not close to her. But, my sister had her number, and even sent another actress, Paschaline Alex to her, all to no avail.

“She (Funke) stopped calling her for jobs. Jumoke tried to know why because she wanted to retrace her steps if she had committed any offence.”

He restated that Jumoke was assisted in her hour of need solely by two of her coworkers, Rita Dominic and Tayo Sobola.

Describing his sister as an introvert, Adeola said:

“She was an introvert, and usually kept to herself. She was actually not sick. She just died in her sleep.”

He added that though Jumoke had been buried and the family would organise a tribute event in a church on the 40th day after her death.
