Big Brother Naija star Mercy Eke has talked about her experience with body enhancement surgery and her reasons for going through the procedure.
Eke disclosed in a recent edition of the Love Is A Game podcast that she had lip augmentation, liposuction, and a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) in 2018, all of which were motivated by peer pressure and trends.
She acknowledged that following the social trends of the day rather than being dissatisfied with her appearance was her original driving force.
“To be honest, at first, I followed the trend by undergoing body enhancement surgery,” Eke said.
“I did my body enhancement surgery in 2018. It was just the trend and peer pressure that made me do it. Because I actually had a very good body shape. I was slim with curves in the right places as an African woman. But maybe, my stomach was a little bit too much then.”
The reality star shared her fears and challenges leading up to and following the surgery, describing the experience as painful and emotionally taxing.
“I was scared when I wanted to undergo the surgery. I didn’t tell my mum. I went with two of my friends. It was painful. You won’t sleep with your butt for fourteen days. You have to be lying on your stomach. That’s the painful part. After the surgery, you will cry for three days. But it is worth it.”
Despite the physical and emotional toll, Eke expressed no regrets, stating that the results met her expectations.
She also addressed rumours regarding facial surgery, clarifying that she has not undergone any procedures to alter her facial features, emphasizing her natural beauty.
