Nigerian singer Solid Star, also known as Joshua Iniyezo, has resurfaced in the spotlight following recent revelations about his prior drug use.
This information comes after a troubling incident in 2023 in which a widely shared video showed Solid Star strolling the streets barefoot and unkempt.
Joseph Iniyezo, Solid Star’s younger brother, used social media during this time to raise awareness of the band’s mental health struggles and to ask for help from the general public.
After overcoming his addiction, Solid Star recently spoke with media personality Nedu Wazobia and other guests on the Honest Bunch podcast about his turbulent experience with drugs.
He described how he was exposed to heavy drugs via unfavourable influences during a turning point in 2001, which resulted in serious mental health problems.
Solid Star gave a detailed account of how the drugs would control him and even force him to walk miles across Lagos.
