[VIDEO] Last year I was engaged, this year I’m no longer engaged but… DJ Cuppy opens up on failed engagement
Florence Otedola, better known as DJ Cuppy, a Nigerian music jockey, has finally addressed her failed engagement to British boxer Ryan Taylor.
Cuppy mentioned on the Wimbiz stage that she was engaged last year but is now single. She went on to detail her failures this year, which included a failed engagement, a failed jewellery line, and nearly failing in school.
Her story, however, is still unfolding, and there is more in store for her.
“Last year I got engaged, but this year I’m no longer engaged.
I had a failed jewelry line and almost failed in school. I’m no longer engaged, but my story is still happening and there’s more to come”.
DJ Cuppy said yes to her British boxer boyfriend of less than a week.
During an interview with Brunch with Amel, Cuppy revealed that she got engaged after two days of meeting her Ryan and only started making inquiries about him because things between them were so quick.
Unfortunately, their love didn’t last as after 7 months of being engaged, DJ Cuppy and Ryan Taylor broke up for undisclosed reasons in July.
The disc jockey was spotted on several occasions without her rings and had stopped sharing photos of her boo, which left many questioning if the couple was still together.
Kemi Filani dug into it and noticed that the lovebirds had unfollowed each other on social media.
Speaking out, Ryan Taylor hinted at the cause of the breakup, as he stated that if something is blocking one’s spirituality, one should let it go.
Also giving a hint at their break-up, Cuppy had showered love on her mother, Nana Otedola for always knowing the best.
Last month, Cuppy had lamented over their failed engagement as November would have been their anniversary month. Brooding over it, Cuppy took to her Instagram story to lament over how she and Ryan have become strangers.
Consoling her, one Netizen identified as Akinwunmi advised the daughter of Femi Otedola to give up on love and just have kids.
In a later post, DJ Cuppy offered important advice to those in love, stating that the worst prison in the world is a home without peace. As such, one should be careful of who they fall in love with.
