Former Big Brother Naija participant Victoria Iye, also known as Vee, has noticed that navigating the complexity of modern relationships can be especially difficult in Lagos.
Vee voiced concerns about how the dynamics of modern dating had been profoundly changed by the emergence of interpersonal communication.
She also credits her very emotional country, Lagos, for her cautious approach to relationships.
In an interview with Clout Africa, Vee offered her perspectives, noting that dating in Lagos comes with its own set of difficulties.
Vee observed that the crossover generation, comprising early Gen Z and late millennials, is going through a communication revolution that would undoubtedly affect their love relationships.
She disclosed that she prefers to avoid certain circumstances in order to shield her heart from potential harm. She noted that her nature is naturally loving and caring and that she constantly struggles to strike a balance between her intellect and her emotions.
In her words:
“The dating scene in Lagos is a bit harder than usual. As late millennials, early Genzs we are going for it right now, human communication is not what it used to be.
“I avoid situations before I get heartbroken. I’m a soft, romantic, lover girl so a bit of a balance between the brain and the mind, that is the constant battle for me.”
In another story, Vee Iye opens up on her views on marriage.
The BBNaija star acknowledged that she believed in the idea of being in a committed relationship, but she questioned whether getting married was really necessary.
Vee acknowledged in the interview that she does not currently see the urge to get married.
She explained this viewpoint away as a product of her youth, implying that as she becomes older, her opinions on marriage might change.
The reality TV star also mentioned that her prior experiences might have had an impact on her lack of interest in getting married.
Vee confessed that she had never imagined settling down or making a long-term commitment to her spouse in a relationship.
