Singer Korede Bello discusses his decision to contract with the company Mavins Records in 2014 and his departure from it in 2021.

Bello revealed in a recent interview with Hip TV that he was compelled to reassess his artistic and personal goals, which is what caused him to leave the label.

Korede Bello talked about how it felt more like a commercial product meant to make money than an artist discovering his actual value and passion.

He conceded that artists may become sidetracked from what really counts in their artistic journeys by chasing songs that top the charts and outside approval.

In his words:

“I was at a season in my life where I needed to metamorphose, to explore my inner worth, to do introspection, understand myself, understand meaning more, and reconnect to my why.

“Because I was at a stage where I started to feel like a product that is just there [at Mavins Records] to make money.

“You lose sight of what matters when you chase after the next hit, after the next whatever it is that can get you into conversations. So a lot of artists are addicted to that circle.”

Recal that, Korede Bello had earlier opened up on his experience with DonJazzy in Mavins record label.

In a recent heartfelt post on his X account, Korede Bello opened up about his deep appreciation and admiration for his former record label boss, Don Jazzy.

The “Godwin” crooner took to his social media platform to pour out his sentiments, expressing his admiration for Don Jazzy’s character both during their time together in Mavins and beyond.

Korede Bello’s tribute was filled with genuine gratitude and admiration for the iconic music producer.
