Popular singer Joseph Akinfenwaa Donus, known as Joeboy, has shared the inspiration behind his hit song “Better.”

In a recent interview with popular media personality Vivz, Joeboy explained that he wrote the song to raise awareness about domestic violence against women.

He mentioned that women in African society are often not treated “properly.”

The host said: “‘Better’ is my favourite song ever. In that song, it’s like you’re speaking up for a woman that has been treated badly by another man.”

Joeboy said: “It’s something that happens a lot in African society; domestic abuse. Sometimes women are maltreated and not treated properly. I wanted to shed light on domestic violence against women.”
