How to block spam calls and texts on your phone

Blocking spam calls and texts depends on your phone type and carrier. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Use Built-in Phone Features

On Android

• Block Specific Numbers:
  • Open the Phone app → Go to Recent Calls
  • Tap on the spam number → Select Block/Report Spam
• Block Spam Messages:
  • Open the Messages app → Long press the spam message
  • Tap Block & Report Spam

On iPhone

• Block Calls:
  • Go to Phone App → Recent Calls → Tap the (i) next to the number
  • Select Block This Caller
• Block Texts:
  • Open the Messages app → Tap the conversation

4. Use Third-Party Apps

5. Report Spam Numbers

• Android & iPhone: Report spam calls in the Phone app
• Nigeria: Send spam SMS details to 2442
• USA: Report to FTC’s Do Not Call Registry
