MTN Foundation, KPMG others empower 500 youths in Oyo

MTN Foundation in partnership with KPMG, Digital Bridge Institute, IBM and Oracle has trained 500 youths in Information and Communications Technology and business skills in Oyo State.

A statement by the company on Monday said at the two-day intensive training facilitated by technology experts that the 500 participants expressed excitement as they were better equipped to succeed in Nigeria’s evolving business landscape.

According to the company, dignitaries such as the Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu; Special Adviser on ICT to the Executive Governor of Oyo, Mr. Niyi Ajao; and the Head of Digital Communications, Oyo State Government, Babajide Fadoju, were present at the opening ceremony.

Senior government officials, industry leaders and other dignitaries present commended the MTN Foundation team for the successful completion of the inaugural edition of the MTNF ICT and business skills training in Oyo State.

The foundation pledged its commitment to continuous training of young and aspiring entrepreneurs around Nigeria.

The statement said the foundation, through its many ongoing and upcoming projects, had shown commitment to improving the quality of lives of Nigerian communities as evidenced by the impact on over 10 million Nigerians in 400 communities across the country through multiple projects such as the highly successful ‘What Can We Do Together’ initiative.
