Believe it or not, there are loads of fun places to take your children to in Lagos. That’s why we have come up with a bucket list of fun places you must experience with your children.

A “bucket list” is a list of goals you want to achieve, and life experiences you desire to experience especially with your kids. These are surely fun things you should consider either during festive period like Christmas, summer holiday break or just a weekend getaway with your family.

Jabi Lake Park, Abuja

Jabi Lake Park offers a beautiful lakeside setting perfect for a relaxing Children’s Day outing. The park features playgrounds, boat rides, and ample picnic spots. The serene environment is ideal for families to unwind while children play and enjoy various recreational activities.

Dreamworld Africana

Dreamworld Africana, located at KM 20 on the Lekki-Ajah Expressway, Lagos, is a top family destination. It’s just past the 2nd Lekki toll gate, with the Orchid Hotel serving as a key landmark nearby. The park offers a wide array of attractions, including a roller coaster, carousel, Ferris wheel, bumper cars, go-karts, arcade games, bouncy castles, and more. Visitors can also enjoy a swimming area with water slides for a refreshing experience.

Entry fees typically start at ₦1,000, with an option to pay per ride or purchase an all-day access pass for around ₦3,500. For Children’s Day, special tickets are available at an all-inclusive rate of ₦2,000 for children and ₦1,500 for adults, promising a day of exciting fun at an affordable price.

Rufus and Bee

Searching for a fun bowling spot? Look no further than Rufus and Bee. This entertainment hub combines a games arcade, restaurant, bowling alley, and sports bar, making it a one-stop destination for all ages. Conveniently located off Remi Olowude Street in Lekki (near the 2nd roundabout), it offers a vibrant arcade filled with a variety of games, including football, shooting, car racing, and basketball—perfect for an exhilarating experience.

To play, purchase a card for ₦1,000 and load it with points, starting from ₦5,000 (55 chips) up to ₦30,000 (405 chips). A visit to Rufus and Bee promises endless entertainment and is a must-visit for families and gaming enthusiasts alike.

Hi-Impact Planet

Hi-Impact Planet is an impressive amusement park and resort located just outside Lagos along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, at KM 12 near the MFM Prayer City. This theme park is a hub of excitement and adventure. Having visited three times, I can confidently say there’s so much to do that a single day isn’t enough to experience it all.

The park features a variety of attractions, including an indoor games arcade, bumper cars, ice skating, a Ferris wheel, a carousel, go-karts, train rides, and a 4D cinema. Recently, it added a swimming area and water slides, enhancing the fun. For those coming from out of town or wanting to extend their holiday, the park also offers accommodation, making it a mini “Disneyland” experience.

Entrance costs ₦5,000, with additional fees for games. Visitors can either “pay as you play” or opt for an all-access package (HIP Regular or Combo), ranging from ₦15,000 to ₦25,000. Individual games cost between ₦500 and ₦2,500. For thrill-seekers, the Enterprise Ride is a must-try!

Omu Resort

Omu Resort offers a unique blend of attractions, combining a mini zoo, seaworld, wax museum, and amusement park all in one location. Situated at 1, Omu Resort Drive, Bogije Town, Lagos, it’s a bit of a drive depending on your starting point, located beyond Awoyaya and Lakowe.

The resort features a diverse range of activities, including a zoo, wax museum, thrilling rides, mechanical bull riding, horse riding, a waterpark, paintballing, quad biking, roller skating, kayaking, and go-karts. Our visit was thoroughly enjoyable, and we’re already planning a return trip!

Tickets include both entry and access to games, with three main packages priced between ₦3,000 and ₦8,000 per person. For groups of five or more, asking for the family package is a great way to enjoy a discount.

Agodi Gardens, Ibadan

Agodi Gardens in Ibadan is a serene and beautiful park that offers a variety of attractions for children. It features a water park, a mini zoo, and lush gardens. The park’s calm environment is perfect for picnics and leisurely walks, making it a great spot for a family day out.

Funderland Mall

Situated within Funderland Mall at 16/18 Lekki-Epe Expressway, directly opposite Mega Chicken (between Chevron and VGC), this destination is perfect for a day of fun and excitement. The mall houses DCube Skating Rinks, Trotter, and Pop Water Park, offering a variety of activities including fun games, rock climbing, pony rides, a swimming pool, water slides, and indoor skating.

Prices for rides and skating range from ₦1,000 to ₦2,500.

Funtopia Water Park

Funtopia Leisure Resort, situated at Km 35, Lekki-Epe Expressway, directly opposite Pan African University and just minutes away from Victoria Garden City, is a must-visit destination. This water park features three exciting water slides, a swimming area, a games room, a snack bar, and a bouncy castle.

It’s one spot still on my bucket list to take the kids, and I’m hoping to check it off during the midterm break!

Apapa Amusement Park

Apapa Amusement Park, located at 34 Randle Street, Apapa, offers a variety of exciting attractions, including bumper cars, a carousel, an air bicycle, a mini football pitch, a mini Ferris wheel, roller coasters, and more. Personal favorites include the Pirate Ship and the Fruit Worm.

The indoor arcade is perfect for younger kids, providing plenty of fun-filled games. Admission is free, but rides are pay-as-you-go, with prices ranging from ₦400 to ₦1,500. You can also purchase a card, load it with funds, and use it for multiple rides—any remaining balance can be saved for future visits!

Port Harcourt Pleasure Park, Rivers State

Designed specifically for recreational activities, Port Harcourt Pleasure Park is a wonderful destination for families. It includes a playground, a mini-golf course, a climbing tower, and water slides. The park’s diverse amenities ensure that children have plenty of options for fun and adventure.

Fun Factory, situated on Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1 (accessible via Lekki First Gate), is a fantastic outdoor destination for kids to enjoy a fun-filled weekend and burn off extra energy. The venue features outdoor slides, rides, a small pool, and open spaces for children to play freely.

It’s also an excellent location for children’s events and outdoor parties. An entrance fee of ₦3,000 per person provides full access to the park and its facilities.

Lekki Conservation Centre

Step away from the usual amusement parks and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Lekki Conservation Centre. Located at KM 19, Lekki-Epe Expressway, it’s conveniently positioned near Chevron and just before the 2nd Lekki Tollgate.

Kids will love exploring the serene environment, spotting monkeys, a 95-year-old tortoise, peacocks, crocodiles, and other fascinating wildlife. Don’t miss the thrill of the canopy walk and the adventure of climbing the treehouse.

The entrance fee is ₦200 for children and ₦1,000 for adults, while access to the canopy walk costs an additional ₦1,000.

The Beach

Lagos is home to an array of beautiful beaches, perfect for picnics, sipping fresh coconut water, surfing, and indulging in water activities. Popular choices include Badagry, Eleko, Elegushi, Oniru, and Atican Beaches.

For those seeking more adventure, consider a boat trip to Tarkwa Bay, a serene island accessible only by water. The boat ride takes about 15-20 minutes and costs between ₦1,500 and ₦2,500 one way.

Entry fees for most beaches range from ₦1,000 to ₦2,000, with additional charges for renting tents, chairs, and tables.

Yankari National Park, Bauchi

For families looking for an educational and adventurous outing, Yankari National Park is a fantastic choice. Known for its wildlife, natural warm springs, and historical sites, the park provides a unique opportunity for children to explore nature. Safari tours offer close encounters with elephants, baboons, and other wildlife, while guided walks through the park’s trails educate children about Nigeria’s rich biodiversity.
