2019: Secondus says no more imposition in PDP

The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has warned that the party will not allow for the imposition of candidates as it plans ahead of the general elections in 2019.

Secondus, who led the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) to Delta state, noted that imposition of candidates has been the old order of impunity in the PDP that must not be allowed to exist in the party.

He praised Governor Okowa’s performance in the Council election as very commendable but tasked him to improve on it and ensure the party takes over Edo state.

“We need the PVC to effect a change in 2019. Power will no longer reside at Wadata, but with the people; let the people come together and make their choice. The other party may have the security apparatus and INEC but the people’s power is greater.

“We are here to engage consultation with the governors and members of the NASS and State Assemblies. As for those of you who are seeking to return, if you are still viable, let your people return you.

“We are getting ready to take over and we will touch everywhere; the States, LGAs and Wards to mobilise our people,” Secondus said.
