Making popcorn at home is a quick and affordable way to enjoy a delicious snack without relying on store-bought options. With just a few popcorn kernels, cooking oil and a little seasoning, you can prepare fresh, crunchy popcorn in minutes using a pot and a stovetop.

You’ll need: ½ cup popcorn kernels, 2–3 tablespoons cooking oil (vegetable, canola, coconut, etc.), and salt. Butter is optional.
How to make it:
- Put the oil and 2–3 popcorn kernels in a large pot with a lid.
- Heat over medium-high heat.
- When those kernels pop, add the remaining popcorn kernels and cover the pot.
- Gently shake the pot every few seconds so the kernels don’t burn.
- When the popping slows to about one pop every 2–3 seconds, turn off the heat.
- Carefully open the lid away from your face, then add salt and melted butter to taste.
Tip: Don’t overcrowd the pot—the kernels should form roughly one layer across the bottom. 🍿
