The manager of Napoli, Rudi Garcia, has offered an update on Victor Osimhen’s injury, noting that the Super Eagles standout has been sidelined from play since October.
Osimhen sustained the injury during Nigeria’s international friendly against Saudi Arabia in Portugal last month.
Napoli has authorized the former Lille player to proceed with his rehabilitation in Nigeria.
In a recent interview, Napoli’s manager, Rudi Garcia, provided an injury update on the Super Eagles striker, stating that he is anticipated to return to Italy next week, as reported by Complete Sports.
“Osimhen made an agreement with the club, I spoke to him through messages, the doctors assure me that he is following the program, everything is fine, and he will be with us next week,” he said.
“It’s not that I don’t care, but whether it’s Osimhen or Russo, injured together, cannot play, and therefore I focus on who can play.”
Osimhen has continued his form from last season into the current 2023-24 campaign, netting six goals in 10 matches across all competitions.
Napoli has been lacking the Super Eagles player’s goal-scoring prowess since his injury, as their most recent match concluded in a 2-2 draw against AC Milan.
