WAFCON 2024: Plumptre Confident Super Falcons Are Ready for “Good Team” Zambia

Centre-back Ashleigh Plumptre insists Nigeria’s Super Falcons are fully prepared for Friday’s quarter-final showdown against the Copper Queens of Zambia at Larbi Zaouli Stadium.

After topping Group B unbeaten – including a resilient goalless draw with Algeria – Plumptre says the extended recovery time between matches has left the squad “in really good spirits.” “We’ve trained hard these past few days and the atmosphere is calm but exciting,” she told reporters.

“Zambia are a good team with dangerous attackers in Barbara Banda and Rachel Kundananji, but we’ve built our strength on defending as one and attacking as one. We’ll be ready for them as a complete unit.”
