Why God delayed my success till my thirties – Tiwa Savage

Tiwa Savage, a Nigerian musician, has revealed a divine explanation for the delay in her career breakthrough.

The 44-year-old singer firmly stated her conviction that God purposefully postponed her popularity on a recent episode of The Receipts podcast.

She claims that God postponed her accomplishment in order to inspire younger, less successful women. She stated:

“I feel like God has done this on purpose. God delayed my success for a purpose. I used to be like, why wasn’t I successful in my twenties? I started succeeding in my thirties.

“It’s to bless other people. It’s to bless that 25-year-old girl who’s scared about what the future holds. If she opens my page and sees that I started in my thirties, she would be like, ‘I still have time.”

In a different story, Tiwa Savage discussed her feelings about the criticism she receives for her style choices due to her age.

During a recent podcast appearance, Savage voiced her displeasure with the ongoing criticism she encounters because of her age.

The 44-year-old singer said she frequently receives criticism for her wardrobe choices, with some people arguing that she ought to wear more modestly given her advanced age.

Tiwa Savage, on the other hand, noted that Beyoncé and other female celebrities in their 40s are frequently praised for their beauty and sense of style, despite their advanced age.

She emphasized that she believes age should not dictate one’s fashion choices, urging individuals to be free to express themselves through their clothing, regardless of their age.

Tiwa Savage also expressed her confidence in her own beauty and fashion sense, stating that she is proud to be a powerful and beautiful woman.

She said:

“They age-shame me every single day. They say, a woman of you age, how can you be wearing a bikini? I can because I have a body.

“Beyoncé is in her 40s and wears bikinis but Americans don’t age shame her. They would be like, for her age, black don’t crack. It’s more celebrated when you look good in your older age.

“But they [Nigerians], always throw these things like, when her son grows up, he’s going to see this. My son is going to be like, my mum is a powerful and beautiful woman.”
