Nigeria’s Super Falcons staged a stunning comeback to seal a thrilling 3–2 win over Morocco in Saturday’s electrifying Women’s Africa Cup of Nations showdown.

Morocco struck early, with Ghizlane Chebbak opening the scoring in the 12th minute, followed by a second from Sanaâ Mssoudy in the 24th minute to give them a 2–0 lead.

Nigeria came out strong in the second half, mounting a spirited comeback.

Esther Okoronkwo converted a penalty in the 64th minute to pull one back, and seven minutes later, Folashade Florence Ijamilusi netted the equaliser in the 71st minute, reigniting the Super Falcons’ hopes.

Jennifer Echegini sealed the dramatic comeback with a decisive goal in the 88th minute, handing the Super Falcons a memorable victory.

Statistically, Nigeria had the upper hand, registering 14 shots—five on target—compared to Morocco’s 10. The Super Falcons dominated possession with 55%, completed 280 passes at a 69% accuracy rate, and earned five corners against Morocco’s three.

Despite the fierce competition, the match remained fair and disciplined, with no cards shown. Nigeria committed seven fouls, while Morocco recorded 12.
