The Nigeria Police Force has rescued five kidnapped victims, dismantled a notorious gang, and recovered arms and ammunition in a series of operations in Kebbi State.

Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed the successes in a statement on Tuesday.

On 27 July, armed kidnappers attacked Sangara Village in Shanga Local Government Area, abducting three residents — Muhammad Namata, Gide Namata, and Hamidu Namani. Police operatives, working with other security agencies and local vigilantes, tracked the gang to Shanga Hills. After a fierce gun battle, the criminals fled with gunshot wounds, enabling officers to rescue all three victims safely.

In a separate operation on 15 August, police on routine patrol in Dankade Village, Ribah District, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area, encountered bandits. The officers engaged them in another exchange of fire, leading to the rescue of two further victims, Tukur Bello and Isyaka Abubakar. Both men had been abducted on 9 August while grazing cattle in Gairi Forest, Zamfara State.

Adejobi said the operations demonstrated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to securing lives and property. He urged citizens to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information to combat criminal activities.
