A fresh update has emerged regarding the increasing demand for Nnamdi Kanu’s release, as 44 serving federal lawmakers from both northern and southern Nigeria have issued a two-page letter and resolution addressed to President Bola Tinubu.
In the correspondence, the legislators appealed to the President to exercise his constitutional authority to secure Kanu’s release from detention and to convene an inclusive political dialogue involving all relevant stakeholders to tackle national challenges and achieve a lasting, political-based resolution.
The lawmakers, operating under the banner of “Concerned Federal Lawmakers,” also urged President Tinubu to instruct the Attorney-General of the Federation, at the earliest opportunity, to use his constitutional mandate to halt the prosecution of Nnamdi Kanu.
