Delta gov condoles Super Eagles’ Ndidi on father’s death

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed sympathy with Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi following the death of his father, Mr Sunday Ndidi.

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the late Ndidi, a retired military officer, lost his life in a fatal road accident on Tuesday in Umunede, Ika North East Local Government Area of the state. He was taken to a hospital in Agbor, where he was later confirmed dead.

In a statement released on Wednesday in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described the death of Sunday Ndidi as sudden and deeply painful, noting that it was a significant loss not only to the Ndidi family but also to the Umunede community and the wider Ika Nation.

Oborevwori conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Wilfred Ndidi, the bereaved family, and residents of Umunede, encouraging them to find comfort in the meaningful life and legacy left behind by the deceased.

“The tragic incident has drawn widespread sympathy, including Wilfred Ndidi’s club, and Besiktas, which confirmed the development in a statement released on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.”

The governor also prayed that God would grant the family strength to bear the irreparable loss and give eternal rest to the soul of the departed.
