West Ham United have confirmed the signing of winger Adama Traore from Fulham, bringing him back together with head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
The 30-year-old Spanish international previously worked under Nuno at Wolverhampton Wanderers for three seasons between 2018 and 2021. He joins the Hammers as they look to climb out of the Premier League relegation zone and could make his first appearance for the club against Chelsea on Saturday, with the match live on Sky Sports.
“I’m so happy to be here, so happy to help the team the maximum I can and show my quality,” Traore said. The winger has made 262 Premier League appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing 25 assists across spells with Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Wolves and Fulham, having developed through Barcelona’s academy.
Speaking on their reunion, Nuno said: “He is someone I obviously know well from our time together at Wolves, and I am looking forward to working with him again.
“Adama is someone who knows the Premier League very well, and his unique qualities as a player will help us between now and the end of the season.
“He will give us a different option in attacking areas. He is also very motivated to fight for us and ready to bring energy, commitment and determination to our challenge.”
Traore had featured sparingly for Fulham this season, making one league start and 14 substitute appearances, as Marco Silva’s side close in on a deal with Manchester City for Oscar Bobb.
