Barcelona extended their lead at the summit of LaLiga to four points after cruising to a 3–0 victory over Mallorca, with Lamine Yamal producing a sensational second-half strike to inspire the win.

Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring, while substitute Marc Bernal also found the net as the Catalans pulled further ahead of Clasico rivals Real Madrid, who face Valencia on Sunday.

Mallorca had a golden opportunity to take an early lead in the 17th minute when Jan Virgili’s delivery found Vedat Muriqi, but the striker could only poke his effort wide at full stretch.

Barcelona gradually grew into the contest, with Marcus Rashford cutting inside and firing just wide of the right post before the breakthrough arrived. Rashford was involved again moments later as his effort was blocked by David Lopez, the rebound deflecting off Dani Olmo into the path of Lewandowski, who calmly finished past goalkeeper Leo Roman.

The visitors put the result beyond doubt on the hour mark through Yamal. After wasting a clear chance in the first half, the teenage star latched onto a pass from Olmo and unleashed a stunning 25-yard effort into the bottom-right corner.

Bernal completed the scoring seven minutes from the end, showcasing individual quality as he burst into the box, outfoxed Pablo Maffeo, and slotted the ball in at the near post.

Despite making things uncomfortable for Barcelona before the break, Mallorca could not cope with the hosts once their attacking unit found rhythm.

The victory also underlined Barcelona’s attacking depth, as they became the second side this season to have three players score at least 10 goals in Europe’s top five leagues, joining Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski, now on 10 LaLiga goals in the 2025–26 campaign, reached double figures for the 15th consecutive season in Europe’s elite leagues, a feat matched only by Lionel Messi and surpassed by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Yamal, meanwhile, netted his 24th LaLiga goal in just his 92nd appearance, setting a new record for the most goals scored by a player under the age of 19 in Europe’s top five leagues this century, overtaking Kylian Mbappe.
