Alhaji Muhammad Gadaka has been re-elected as Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Yobe State following the party’s state congress held in Damaturu on Tuesday.
Speaking to members after the exercise, Gadaka described the congress as peaceful, transparent, and free from imposition.
“There was no imposition of candidates, and there was no rancour throughout the exercise,” he said.
He praised officials from the party’s national headquarters, led by Ambassador Babagana Ajimi and Muttaka Rabe, for providing effective oversight and ensuring the credibility of the process.
“We are grateful to the national headquarters for sending a credible team to oversee the process. Their presence ensured transparency and strengthened confidence among our members,” he added.
Gadaka also revealed that the Congress Committee had submitted its report covering the 178 ward congresses and 17 local government congresses conducted across the state.
He credited the smooth conduct of the exercise to the inclusive leadership style of Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni.
“The unity we witnessed today is a reflection of the commitment and inclusive leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni,” he said.
The chairman encouraged party members to maintain this spirit of unity as preparations get underway for the party’s national convention scheduled for March 2027.
