The United States president Donald Trump has criticised the United Kingdom’s response to tensions in the Middle East, saying the US no longer needs support from allies that decide to join conflicts late.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said, “the United Kingdom, our once Great Ally, maybe the Greatest of them all, is finally giving serious thought to sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East”.
“That’s OK, Prime Minister Starmer, we don’t need them any longer – But we will remember,” Trump says.
